Eeeps! Lil Break.
Hello vegan hearts club! This service is on hold until further notice. Alas, time has gotten away from me. Boo, I know. I may revive without the in person meetings or when a few more friends can help out. I’ll keep thinking on in. In the mean time, you keep looking for love in all the right places! xoxo
Future Vegans Welcome
A few folks may think that because I started this lil’ dating service that I think vegans should only date other vegans. Not true! Not true! But, I do think it is best when vegans date future vegans!
See here, when I started hanging out with my boyfriend, he was vegan and I was a “the rarer the better” type of omnivore. It was 1992 and I had a lot of misdirected angst. I like to think he saw something in me: maybe an open mind, a willingness to empathize, a drive to not let the bad guys win, and no big attachment to the status quo? These are the types of things that could have described us both. It took about a year for me to gravitate to veganism, and now 18 years later, I guess his bet paid off. I thank my lucky stars. Seriously.
While chatting with a vegan gentleman friend yesterday about his non-vegan gal, who he adores, he did say that her not being vegan at first isn’t the end of the world. He said what might be a deal breaker is if she learned all of the reasons to be vegan, you know, read and watched all of the things we have all read and seen, and she still wasn’t willing to go vegan. It would be her looking the horror in the face and still opting in to that system that he would find unacceptable. I think that is a really reasonable approach and one that could change her life for the better. And I’ll bet she comes around – he is quite a catch after all.
What do y’all think? You would give a future vegan a chance, right?

Vegan Boys Are the Best
True fact of the day: vegan boys are the best. And this is a freaking adorable video with Brownbird Rudy Relic singing their praises and breaking down a few stereotypes at the same time.
“I’m cruelty free. And I’m being me. . . And frankly I don’t give a fuck about yoga.”
It is in response to the song, “Vegan Boys Are the Worst” – which is really cute, but totally wrong.
